St. Paul's Boys National School

Bullying

Our school will not tolerate bullying.

“Bullying can be defined as repeated aggression, verbal, psychological or physical, conducted by an individual or group against others”. (Department of Education 1993)

Bullying is abuse, which causes only distress or displeasure to the victim and gives gratification and power to the bully. Bullying is always intentional.

In order to give every pupil the right to enjoy their schooling teachers will adopt the following approach to bullying;

  • Nip bullying in the bud at the first suspicion
  • Talk about bullying to their pupils
  • Take action if bullying continues
  • Involve parents and other agencies if necessary
  • Bullying will initially be treated as misdemeanour
  • Persistent bullying will be treated as a gross misdemeanour

Thank you to the Parents' Association

"A big thank you to our Parents' Association" from all the boys and staff for their support to us over the last year. We have been able to get a number of projects off the ground as a result of their contribution. With the proceeds of their fundraising projects, we now have a brand new stage; guitars, keyboards and recorders for our music lessons. They also funded the design of this website which was designed by a past pupil of ours, William Hayes.
