Third Class
We also like music in third class. At the moment, we are learning how to play some tunes on the tin whistle. Some tunes can be a little bit tricky for us but practice makes perfect! We can’t wait until June, when we get to go to the schools concert at the Theatre Royal. We are very excited about this trip! On Thursdays, it’s Art. We do a different activity like painting, drawing, or construction each week. We love experimenting with different colours and materials.
One of our favourite subjects is P.E. At the start of third class, we went swimming in a local swimming pool. Now, we get to experience lots of different sports like basketball, hurling, gaelic football, soccer, and rugby. We are very lucky here in St.Paul's, because we often have local sports coaches come in to our school to help us to improve our technique.
Another one of our favourite subjects is Maths. We love doing mental maths. Tables are very important in third class so we have to study them well. Every day, we play ‘King of the tables’ and most days we have a new champion. We love playing with polydrons also. These are construction toys. They come in different 2D shapes like hexagons, squares and triangles. We click them together in different ways to form
3D shapes like triangular prisms and pyramids. Some boys can even make really cool things like houses!
Bainfimid úsáid as an ngGaeilge gach lá ar scoil. Is breá linn an teanga. Bíonn frása nua againn gach seachtain mar ”frása na seachtaine”. Imrímid an-chuid cluichí agus bímid ag canadh amhráin, ag foghlaim dánta agus ag déanamh drámaí gach seachtain.

Thank you to the Parents' Association
"A big thank you to our Parents' Association" from all the boys and staff for their support to us over the last year. We have been able to get a number of projects off the ground as a result of their contribution. With the proceeds of their fundraising projects, we now have a brand new stage; guitars, keyboards and recorders for our music lessons. They also funded the design of this website which was designed by a past pupil of ours, William Hayes.
